Alexander Povetkin, Russian heavyweight boxer, who lost to Wladimir Klitschko on the basis of the unanimous decision of judges hopes for a rematch. Wladimir Klitschko in a 12- round bout won the points and defended the title of world champion under the versions of WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO. After the fight, Alexander Zimin, the head coach of Povetkin’s Team, claimed that training with McKinley imposed at the final stage of preparation, and it prevented Povetkin to improve his boxing proficiency. There were also no sparring partners similar to Klitschko, which also caused the boxer’s lack of preparation. In addition, Alexander Povetkin had very little opportunities to stand in pairs with Mariusz Wach.
According to Povetkin’s Team, a boxer will meet with Wladimir Klitschko in the near future. The rematch is planned to be organized during the following year. However, it should be noted that previously Bernd Boente, Klitschko’s manager, said that the rematch would never happen.

Nevertheless, the boxing rematch between Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko and Russian Alexander Povetkin is going to be held soon. Although the negotiations on this fight have evolved in a complicated manner, the parties came to an understanding and it was announced that Klitschko – Povetkin boxing will be held in New-York, the USA on January 13, 2014.
At the moment, a variety of the media provides an interesting detail related to the contract among the boxers, i.e. in case of Wladimir Klitschko’s defeat, the boxing rematch will be held within 90 days after the Klitschko – Povetkin original match. However, the opponent of Povetkin may be either Vladimir or Vitaliy Klitschko.
Vitali Klitschko is currently actively involved into politics, and his last boxing match was held against Manuel Charr a year ago. This fight took place in Moscow and ended with a victory of Vitali Klitschko (Boxing official page).
